Cocktails and Canvases: Women Inspired Collage with Rosé the Riveters
Want something relaxing and fun to do with your gal pals? This August 26th, Women’s Equality Day- is the perfect opportunity!
We will be creating collages, or artwork made by piecing together different imagery and text. I have always believed it to be a calming and therapeutic experience. It doesn’t take as much thought as it does just listening to what calls you or makes you happy!
But before we begin with that part, I will teach an optional sketch lesson! Using pencil, you will draw a woman: your mom, sister, a friend, a celebrity, yourself- ya know, someone you look up to! Then you can use this small drawing as the first, and most integral part of the collage.
Secondly, we will need magazines (which are the easiest thing to collage). I’ll have a few and a collection of precut images. But I encourage you to bring your own magazine as well for more variety and so everyone has plenty!
The most relaxing part is the assembly. After we cut out every image we want, and practice placing them in a different arrangements, we glue them down and have a beautiful artwork!
And all the while, you can sip on a Rosé the Riveter! This feminist cocktail will be a combination of rosé (of course), pink lemonade, and a little bit of bubbly.
We hope to see you there for a lady filled and super chill night!
